Wedding Ceremony and Reception

The Murlyssa wedding will be in Port Gamble, WA, on the Kitsap Peninsula at the mouth of the Hood Canal. Getting there from Seattle requires a ferry and about an hour’s drive. Expect long lines at the ferries and a lot of traffic on the roads – get there early, and don’t expect to get on the first ferry — plan on at least 2-3 ferries coming and going before you can board and be on your merry way!

Where to Stay

As described, Port Gamble is at the mouth of the Hood Canal. The Hood Canal separates the Kitsap Peninsula from the Olympic Peninsula and we recommend lodging options on both sides of the bridge simply because there is no shortage of fun things to do and beautiful things to see on either side. Plus, its only about a 10 minute drive.

Kitsap Peninsula

We have a room block in place at the Clearwater Casino Resort. This newly constructed waterfront casino resort offers very reasonably priced luxury hotel rooms and, because the Rehersal Dinner and after-after party will be held here, it makes a lot of sense for couples coming to the area for those events. We recommend this resort for younger couples and those who expect to be staying up late celebrating with the Bride and Groom.

The phone number is 866-609-8700. Please mention “being part of the Stielstra-Murphy wedding and Booking ID 7281″ and they will apply the appropriate discounts. The final date for the reduced rate is July 10, but don’t wait!

Olympic Peninsula

  1. There is a handful of beautiful waterfront Vaction Rental By Owner (VRBO) options in the area. Thank you the Philip for compiling this very helpful list.

  2. The Resort at Port Ludlow is another stunning waterfront hotel with a high end restaurant that features “farm to table” style eating with local ingredients from the Olympic Peninsula. Port Ludlow Golf Course is also a decent course within a stones throw from the Inn. We recommend this resort for folks who would like to be in close proximity to the Vacation Rentals that the Murphy and Stielstra Families have rented (which are also technically in the Port Ludlow community) and those who would like to have a very peaceful stay in a lovely marina resort.
